Marquee Wedding Reception Littlefield Manor with Blank Canvas
The Consultation
As recommended supplier for Blank Canvas Weddings I was delighted to be contacted by Kate and Joe to chat about their plans for flowers at their wedding in July at Littlefield Manor.
We all love a ‘real life’ wedding so I thought you might like to hear about the process of working with me as your florist.
During our consultation over zoom we chatted about the order of the day, who the special people involved were and amongst other details the all important aesthetic the couple wanted to create for their big day.
Kate had a love for the beautiful blousy coral peony, and as June and July are the perfect months for peonies this was a definite must!
A little nearer the time we all met in person at a coffee shop in Guildford. Joe and Kate had taken a sabbatical from their jobs and had been travelling so it was great to catch up and finalise the flowers as well as meet Kate’s lovely mum at this meeting.
We poured over pinterest and images collected, a plan was coming together!
Summery blues, corals, pinks and creams were favourited and I couldn’t wait to get started!
The Church & Bridal Party Flowers
The traditional ceremony took place in Worplesdon at St Mary's church, where I provided an abundant urn display as well as 2 lovely milk churn arrangements to frame the wooden doorway for those all important 'just married' photos. All three designs were collected after the ceremony by my team and set-up at the marquee reception to be posititioned and enjoyed for the rest of the celebrations.
Kate carried a generous hand tied bouquet of peony, delphinium, stocks, roses, dahlia with a sprinkling of tancetum (daisy), Kates bridesmaids carried the same but in a slightly smaller size and they complimented the sage green dresses beautifully. The little ones also had a wonderful gypsophilia flower crown to really finish the look, so adorable!
Joe and his boys looked very handsome in their military uniform, complemented with a coral rose buttonhole, tieing together the flower scheme beautifully.
Marquee Reception Littlefield Manor
Littlefield Manor is a very special venue, I adore working here! It's set in a beautifully peaceful location amidst 400 acres of farmland with wonderful views of the countryside. With Holly from Blank Canvas weddings at the helm, ensuring the smooth running of the day I knew we were all in safe hands!
As a marquee reception this called for some foliage decoration and it was decided on a fresh mixed foliage suspended hoop over the central bar, as well as foliage decorations for the marquee poles.
The guys of the marquee company TentsnEvents couldn't have been more helpful in rigging up the pulley system and providing the hoop to make this happen, so my team and I could set to work with the creating!
Bringing the whole marquee decor together we adorned the tables with lovely subtle pink ceramic bowls filled with the blooms of the day.
I suggested to the couple that the adult bridesmaids bouquets could be re-purposed into the same colour slightly different design bowls, a great way to stretch your flower designs over 2 roles and of course keeping them in water will help keep them looking fresh for longer.
Kate and Joe what a wonderful couple, it was an absolute honour to be the one to sprinkle a little flowery magic over their wedding at Littlefield Manor.
